Today we went over to our old apartment and cleaned it all up nice and pretty, it was super duper fun. Right. The whole time I was there I kept thinking to myself, "self, all this energy and time that you are putting into cleaning this piece of crap apartment, is time and energy that you could be putting into putting things away at the house that still need to be put away." Funny though, for the last hour I've been surfing the internet and I haven't had any thoughts about all the things I need to do around the house.
I love having so much more room. I love having all the toys up in the playroom. Sure, throughout the day some of the girls toys find their way downstairs, but nothing major. I also love having everything so open, mainly my kitchen. My old kitchen was like a cave and I hated being in it. Now I don't feel like that at all.
We have most of our things unpacked, but not quite. I think that some of the stuff that is left should just go in the garbage. I'm not really sure what to do with some of it, and I don't think we would miss it if it were gone. Next comes all the little things that I need to do. One big thing on the list this week is to get our window coverings ordered. We had some quotes done last week and we decided which was best so they are going to come back on Monday and do the final measurements so that we can place our order. After that it will still be at least a month! Yuck. Oh well, I'll just have to get used to wearing clothes around the house at night. (I kid, I kid).

We totally had to to the no window covering thing for a while. We felt like fish in a fishbowl. It was so weird. You will really appreciate them when they come though!
Do you still have the same cell number as when you lived here? I want to make sure I have the right one so I can call you when its closer to our trip and we can make plans to stop by.
Why don't you put all that leftover stuff in a box(es) and store it in your attic/basement/under your bed/whatever for a while. But it won't eat up your storage forever. Decide on a deadline--6 months maybe? Write it on the box and on your calendar. That way it's available if you need it and out of the way if you don't. Of course, you have to find a home for it once you retrieve it. When the fateful day arrives, toss anything you haven't missed.
I'm still working my way through some organizing books, but one thing the author mentions is purge things you don't use or love.
