Jane's 1st birthday is tomorrow, but last night, Jeff's parent's were able to drive up for the day and have a little birthday party with us. Jane and Sophia had a lot of fun playing with them. At one point, Renee and I took Jane and went and browsed a quilt store and Sophia stayed and played with John. She was actually excited when I said that we were leaving but that she could stay and play with Grandpa. Later that night I asked her if she had had fun and she gave a very enthusiastic "yes!" Jane is learning to walk and she seemed to have a lot of fun showing off her skills.
They also brought the bike that Sophia's Uncle Chad and Aunt Elisa gave her for Christmas. She was really excited. Earlier that morning I had reminded her about the bike and told her that Omi and Grandpa were going to bring it this afternoon. At first she was really excited, but then she got concerned and told me "but I don't know how". I told her that Grandpa would help her. When John and Renee got here, Sophia was still asleep, but when she woke up, John was the one to go in and get her and I guess that was one of the first things she mentioned to him. She practiced riding around up and and down the hall. I was raised with a very strict helmet rule and feel really strongly about wearing them so I'm going to go and get her a helmet this week and then we can take her outside.
