So many things

First of all, I'm am right now, as I write, also watching the season premiere of the bestestestestest show ever, So You Think You Can Dance. Love love love love it. The summer has officially begun for me.



Ok, now that I've got that out of the way, I have a cute little story about Sophia from tonight.
She is at that age where she is saying little cute things without even realizing it. Tonight I was reading her the Dr. Seuss Book Hop On Pop, a classic. There is this one page that says,

Bad
Dad
Sad
Had

Dad is sad
he had a bad day
what a day dad had. (Or something like that.)

She always asks me "oh, why is he sad?" I always answer, "he had probably had a hard day at work." Up until now she has always just accepted that and we go on. Actually it's become part of a routine. Well, tonight, same thing, but this time, after I told her he had probably had a bad/hard day at work, she said to me, "oh, he probably couldn't check his email, that's bad." So funny. Here I am, reading her a book that was written when a one computer took up a whole room, and it didn't even have email. Now years and years later, my two year old is adding her own twist on Dr. Seuss.

Next item on the agenda. I cut bangs today. Well, that's only partially true. I actually had some bangs cut like 2 weeks ago, but I had them cut sort of longer, and not too thick. This way I could have bangs...but not totally commit. I've had the same type of "noncommittal bangs" 3 years ago as seen here in this picture of Sophia from 2006. (Man. I look skinny there.)

But now I decided that I want to go all the way. So, today I did. Here is what I look like now. I do have to do the, "I seriously can look better. I'm wearing NO make-up in this picture, none at all", blah blah blah. But it's true. And since I'm not 18 anymore, I don't have wonderfully perfect skin tone or texture. Seriously, a little foundation and under eye concealer makes me look TONS better. The proof is in the above picture. But I'm too lazy and apparently don't care enough because I knowing all this, still didn't bother to go and gussy up before I took this picture just now.


I'm sad now that my hair isn't longer again. For anyone who hasn't known me for very long, up until right before the other picture from 06 was taken, I've always had really long hair. Someday.
