I Heart NY

I am now back from my hiatus from life. For real, if I didn't think about my kids, then it was like my life with them the last 3 years had all been a dream. Not a bad dream, just a dream. However, when I did think about them I felt like if I had to wait a second longer to see them, then I would die! This was my first time away from them, and I was gone for a whole 7 days. So much for baby steps.

A big round of applause for my mother-in-law Renee. Without her, this trip would have been impossible. It can be daunting to watch ones 2 little grandchildren for 7 days, especially when one has some special medical needs. But my kids are happy and healthy and she did a great job.

Out trip was lots of fun. It was me, my mom, my little sister Bethany, and my sister-in-law Natalie. We saw 5 plays while we were there. Blithe Spirit, with Angela Landsburry, (I don't know how to spell that), and Rupert Everett.

Little Mermaid, good, but not that good unless you have a car full of 6 year old girls with you. More of a, seen it once and that was good enough, but still glad that I did see it at least once, type of show.

Wicked. Always good, that's why EVERYONE likes this show.

Guys and Dolls with Tony Award nominee Oliver Platt, and Lauren Graham, from Gilmore Girls. She can actually sing really really well.
Also, for any of you who share my terrestrial habit of watching Sex and the City, (on TBS of course), the other actor was on that one episode where Carrie and Big went to a jazz club together, just as "friends", and she ended up falling for the jazz club owner, (this actor), and Big kept on following them everywhere on their dates.

The last show we saw was 9 to 5. The actress on the left just came straight from playing Elphaba on Broadway in Wicked, and the girl on the far right has played Glinda on Broadway.

That trip sounds like a lot of fun - I've never seen five shows in one week before - I'm pretty sure I'd have a hard time keeping them straight in my mind afterward!
