Sophia is starting to talk like me, and not in the good way. Sometimes, when she wants me to do something, she gets really frustrated and says, "Do it, RIGHT, NOW!" Or, when she doesn't want me to do something, or usually, when she doesn't want me to have her her do something, or help her do something, she tells me, "Do NOT do it". It's funny because I guess when I want to put emphasis on a "request", I say "do not" instead of "don't".

She also copies some nice words too because she call Jeff and me "honey" quite often. It's really endearing to hear your two year old say, "oh honey, how are you?" Or, "Honey, you can't have that."

Jane is developing quite the personality. She is only 13 months old, but she thinks that she is older. I don't remember that with Sophia, and I don't think its because I don't have a good memory, I just think that they are different. Part of it is probably because Jane has an older sister to emulate. Jane wants to feed herself all the time and it drives me crazy because she is not coordinated enough yet. She thinks she is, but she isn't. Yesterday at Costco, she wanted to feed herself frozen yogurt, so I let her at first, but then she was making a HUGE mess, so I took the spoon away. Of course, she screamed and screamed about it, but oh well. Luckily, I don't get too self conscious when my kids freak out in public. I wouldn't have even let her try to feed herself, but she get super mad when I try and feed her. When she first started acting out while I tried to feed her, I couldn't figure out why she was acting so mad. Now that I know, I try and let her feed herself a little bit, she because it's so messy,(she insists on using utensils, not her hands), I don't really like to let her.

Just sounds like you have two independent chicas! Ha ha! Good luck! I don't know why I never realized that Tommy and Jane are not that far apart in age. Tommy is almost 1! Hummm....maybe we can arrange something??

Sorry, Kate, but I have already signed both of my daughters up to be nuns.

I hear you...on all accounts. It is so funny that our kids are going through the same things at the same time. Katie says "stop it" and when she gets mad she screams it. And paul is the same way with food. It's hardest when he wants yogurt. Have fun on your little trip...we will have to get back together when you get back.

Ethan was the same way. I would give him a utensil to hold and it seemed to satisfy him for awhile. Maybe that will help??
