I think that the girls and I are going to sprout fins and tail and grow some gills because we have been swimming so much lately. Yesterday we went to the pool from 3pm until just after 6pm. I was a little bit worried that Jane might be getting sunburned. She doesn't have quite the skin tone that Sophia and I do.
Sophia loves going to the pool. She wears a life jacket and then she just "swims" all around the pool by herself. She won't put her face in the water yet, but next summer she'll have to because that's when I'm going to put her in swim lessons. We got some noodles yesterday and she really liked to have that. She doesn't really need it to float around the pool, but she was still really happy to have it.

I got Jane a life-vest yesterday. Until then, I'd just been holding her, but she was getting really restless so I thought I'd give the life jacket a try. Since it's late in the summer the selections was sort of lame, but so I had to get this new thing that is sort of a mix of water wings and a life vest. But it's Coast Guard approved or whatever. She did really well. She would float around and kick
her legs. I still stayed right by her in case she tipped back or something, but she really liked it.

Yesterday we went to a little block party pot-luck. Our neighborhood is really large, so this just included the house in a smaller area surrounding our house. There were about 10 families or so there. It was actually really nice because now I know the names of all the people in the houses nearby. Also, Sophia met some other girls her age. In fact, the only other kids in the area are 3 other girls that are ages three, two, and almost two, so it's pretty perfect for my two girls.
