Today we went out on a shopping trip and bought all the things you need to supply for yourself once you are a home owners. No more apartments that conveniently come with a fridge, (a piece of crap fridge), and a washer and dryer, (also pieces of crap.) From now on, if our lovely new appliances break down there will not be a apartment repair man to come over and fix them for me. I guess that's ok though, I think I will still be glad to live in a house. I think it was harder for me to fork over the cash to buy the appliances than it was to buy the house. Probably because I view the house as a monthly payment thing when the appliances were a huge chunk of money right up front. Ouch, those better be some clean clothes I see coming out of the laundry in a few weeks. We got traditional white, not blue. I like more traditional things, and it was $200 more to get a color. For me, definitely not worth the money. The fridge looks stainless steel, but it isn't. It looks like stainless steel but it doesn't show fingerprints like stainless steel and you can hang magnets on it. I'm not really big into hanging a lot of things on my fridge, but I would at least like the option. We didn't get a fridge with a water dispenser because they raised the cost almost $500 and I felt like they took up too much room inside.

Jeff says: We also bought a lawnmower.

I am so excited for you guys! That had to be a lot of fun too. The first REAL appliance Chad and I shopped for together was when we had to replace the stove because my kitchenaid mixer fell over and shattered the ceramic top. Oops! That was not as fun probably to do.

We have the same washer and dryer and I love it! It's holds so much stuff. The front loaders have problems with smelling moldy after awhile, but I just use the tub clean cycle with some bleach every month or so to combat it. And I love your fridge.

I've read that the smelly thing can be a problem, but most people said that if you leave the door of the washer cracked open after you use it then it really isn't a problem.

I've never heard of that kind of fridge, but then again I've never really researched the things. :) Sounds like the best way to go. Have fun shopping for your new home ... how exciting! (well, maybe not for Jeff and the pocketbook...!!)

Yay!! That's awesome you could buy everything new. We bought our W/D set off Craigslist. they work fine, but they're not as pretty as yours. :) Our fridge conveyed. I almost wish it hadn't.
