Pre-pre-school

For the past 6 weeks Sophia has been going to this Joy Schoolish type pre-school that I and 4 other moms have been doing. It's only once a week for an hour and a half which is the perfect amount of time for 2 to 3 year olds. Each mom takes a week and we just rotate. Sophia is the youngest of the 5 kids, and by a good amount too. I think that almost all of them are just over 3 and then there are a 1 or 2 that are going to be three in the next few months. Sophia is about 2 and a half. Because she is younger, she is a bit more clingy than the other are, (or maybe it's her personality, but I think age has something to do with it.) So, the first time I dropped her off, all the other kids were happy and playing, no problem. Not Sophia, she was screaming and clinging to my leg with a death grip. I was able to distract her long enough to sneak out, but I knew she would probably freak out when she realized that I was gone. When I got back to get her, the mom in charge that day said that she did freak out, but after about 5 minutes she calmed down. That was 5 weeks ago, and since then every week she has gotten a little better. Then, today, she waked right in without any problem! I was so happy. She did turn around and give me this little "shy" smile as she walked through their door, but that was all. I'm sure there will still be (lots of) times ahead where I will have to deal with her screaming and being clingy when I leave her somewhere, that's normal, but it was nice that she seems to have adjusted to this preschool group.

Great start to the blogging world. I just have to say that I absolutely loved the four generation picture. That was a cool idea.
